Facing the issue that a public official who want to be an effective leader must maintain the highest ethical and moral standards, I accept it with reservation. In the area of business and politics, I suppose that whether a successful leader in business or in politic should follow a high level of ethic and moral, but not the highest. As to the area of spiritual leader, I accept that the highest ethical and moral standards should be obeyed.

In the area of business and politics, a successful leader should observe a high level of ethic and moral. First, in area of business, in order publicize and absorb customers, fostering a good and healthy image is necessary, or the company will suffer from trouble caused by loss of moral and ethic. For example, Mitsubishi motors concealed the flaws of the break system of Pagerlo, which caused not only the loss of the market share but also the trust of the customers. Secondly, to earn the support of the public who are representative of moral and ethic, a successful political leader must have a high level of ethic and moral. Without the support of the public, a leader can't success in the political area. Hitler, in instance, founder of Nazi Party，because of loss of ethic and moral, he and his party cause severe injuries to the world.

However, a level of moral and ethic should be observed by a successful leader does not mean that they must obey the highest level. Whether a successful leader in area of business or of politic, their behavior are decided by their responsibilities and obligations. In some cases, their responsibilities are not always consistent with the highest ethical and moral standards; Thus, they perform their responsibilities primarily rather than the highest moral and ethical level. For example, in area of business, the responsibility of a leader of company is to maximize the profits. Sometimes obeying the highest level would encumber the realization of maximum profit, so it is unrealistic to request them to obey the highest level of morality and ethic. In area of politic, to a president of a country, protecting national interest is the primary goal of the president. Common sense tells us that national interest sometimes conflicts with the highest moral and ethical level. To protect the national interest, Wars launched by the president bring agony and disaster to all mankind. From the perspective of morality and ethic, war is irreconcilable with the direction of morality and ethic; however, national interest is the most significant responsibility to a president. In short, responsibilities of a commercial leader and a political leader decide that they cannot obey the highest level of morality and ethic.

As to the spiritual leader, because their spirits of ethic and morality are representative of all human beings, it is their responsibilities to maintain the highest ethical and moral standards; thus, their acts are only decided by the interest of all human beings rather than by other factors, such as class or national interests, not to mention personal. For example, Gandhi and Martin Luther King，who are the most famous spiritual leaders，are the forerunner in maintaining the highest ethical and moral standards.

In sum, I admit that a leader in business and in politic should have a high level of ethic and moral, but not have the highest because of their responsibilities. However, as a spiritual leader, the highest ethical and moral standards are authentically necessary.
